The Basic Endoscopy Skills Training (BEST) Endoscopy Workshop: Upper GI was held in Singapore in July 2024 for 8 GI fellows. The compressed 3-day course included online learning through Canvas LMS, covering the basics of EGD and an introduction to endoscopic therapy. Participants used homemade "alphabet bowls" to master the one-hand technique for controlling endoscopy movements. Two-thirds of the national trainees participated in the workshop, with the goal of including all national trainees in the future. Assessments included measuring progressive improvement in the time to complete the "alphabet bowls," knowledge-based assessments and technical skills assessments after each module, and a final summary video with reflections at the end of the course.
