The Basic Endoscopy Skills Training (BEST) Endoscopy Workshop: Upper GI took place from September 30 to October 1, 2023, in Manila, Philippines, with 34 first-year GI fellows participating. The program consisted of five weeks of virtual coaching via Viber, followed by a final week of in-person, hands-on experiential training using silicone models and explant tissues. Assessments included the evaluation of technical skills using the WEO EGD Checklist and a 20-question final knowledge assessment based on readings and lectures.
