The Bali Endoscopy Simulation Training (BEST) Consensus, held on the 21st of November 2024, marked a landmark moment in endoscopy education. This event, likely the largest consensus in the history of the Asian Pacific Digestive Week (APDW), brought together 90 invited delegates representing 20 societies worldwide, along with a broad range of stakeholders and more than 100 additional open participants. A total of 28 countries were represented.
The consensus recommended the integration of principles from the science of expertise, such as the expert performance approach, mastery learning, deliberate practice, and feedback. It also advocated for the adoption of curriculum-based simulation learning as a cornerstone of modern endoscopy education.
